Train the Trainer (Thrive Approach)

RCA offers two distinct Train-the-Trainer pathways for individuals seeking certification to deliver approved RCA training programs, such as OVA or ERST:

1. In-House Organisation-Specific Trainer – Certifies an approved staff member to deliver the nominated RCA training program only to employees or personnel within their own sponsoring organisation. The certification and training resources are restricted to internal organisational use and do not permit delivery to external clients or other organisations.

2. Licensed Independent Multi-Client Trainer – Provides an appropriately qualified and assessed trainer with a separate RCA commercial training licence to deliver the specific RCA program they have been certified and licensed in to multiple external client organisations. This pathway is subject to additional licensing, quality assurance, insurance, intellectual property, renewal and ongoing competency requirements.

Both pathways are designed to ensure that RCA-approved programs are delivered consistently, safely and to the required training standard, while clearly defining where and to whom each trainer is authorised to deliver.

The THRIVE Approach is a human rights-based framework focused on:

  • Enhancing safety and wellbeing
  • Understanding and responding to complex behaviours
  • Reducing reliance on restrictive practices
  • Promoting dignity and person-centred support

Designed for organisations seeking long-term capability and internal training sustainability.
